On average I visit the LI network 3-4 times a week. This is most often to extend or accept invitations to connect. I also read the comments posted by members of a few special interest groups.
I have been a member of LinkedIn (and Spoke) for a couple of years; I am not a member of Facebook. Through LinkedIn I have reconnected with a few old friends and former colleagues and I have learned about their current activities and interests. That social connection/reconnection has been nice, but to date I would have to say that LinkedIn has not been a particular asset to my business. This type of wide-scale, electronically mediated social networking is fairly new in business and it remains to be seen how it will evolve.
